Volca Keys + MIDI controller?

i bought a volca keys hoping to use my minibrute as a controller. quickly learned it's 90% incompatible (without modding the volca-- not happening), so i was looking into a standalone controller... but i've heard people complaining about a volume drop when using a controller; similar voltage stuff that made me have to SLAM on the minibrute keys to get anything close to full volume.

can anyone recommend an affordable controller that works flawlessly with the volca keys? if there are issues across the board i may return the volca and search for polyphony elsewhere... cannot hang with that built-in "keyboard..."

thats sounds weird. what do u mean they are incompatible? i've used it w/ the midi in w/ no issues many times.

i have to press hard to get full volume... seems like the velocity on the minibrute doesn't match the volca

the box talks about compatible with other volca and one of the korg midi keys cant remember which though
