i've never made the trip, a couple friends are trying to get me to go along. i know there's TONS of music, i'm just wondering if there's any acts people would recommend i try to catch or anything... i sound like a dick saying it but i'm worried i'll make the trip, wander around and not catch any tunes i dig...
I've never gone because i'm not 21 yet and there's a lot of 21+ venues, but I might go this year, I'll let you know!
Kayo Dot should be around, gotta catch them. Duck little brother duck will probably be around.
Also there's usually really rad house shows for free. Lite from Japan came last year and I missed it
Lots of really awesome bands show up every year even if not on the showcase. Also lots of good bands will sometimes stop by DFW to play before which I like
I'm def going, but not for any actual SXSW events. But, there's this mega house show festival thing called Meatspin 3 that I'm playing on the Friday of that week. It's going to be absolutely goddamned ridiculous. The lineup:
