I know we have a covers thread, but I don't think we have one from this angle...my apologies if we do.
This occurred to me today as I was listening to Slayer's Dissident Aggressor. One of my favorite songs from South of Heaven. But wow, the original version by Judas Priest is embarrassingly horrible to me. In Judas' defense though, I think every song they've ever done is embarrassingly horrible.
Post your examples. Or don't.

The Cash version is indeed great, but I'd find it hard to call the original "horrible"

With Nora but this is a topic I seem to hear about in town, for no reason...
Again not a horrible song I guess but a better version...

+1. cash's cover was OK but nowhere near as good as the original IMO.
this one wins the thread for me.

i never got into 'em. though just like the "hurt" scenario i should've noted that the original isn't "horrible" or anything. i just like the cover WAY WAY WAY WAY WAY WAY WAY better.
