Nicely done. That tone is really close to the record.

I bought a digitech death metal the other week for shits and giggles. Haven't tried it on the live rig, but at home volumes I'd say it's second only to the elements when it comes to my favourite distortions. Totally the best €30 I've spent on a random purchase.

The pcb of the grunge always makes me wonder how so much circuitry can be needed for so little sound, when you consider how nice an Electra drive can sound . Brutal highs, but with the gain low ish and the highs wound right back I quite like the grunge as well.

cheers all! purpose of this demo was that alot of people rag on the grunge/or other cheapo pedals.
i personaally dont believe theres "shit tone" ...moreso wrong application.
im seriously on the hunt for cheap pedals that arent worth building...death metal is on the list and so is the boss mega distortion.

the grunge circuit and pcb is massive (single sided) looking at hte schem i can already see a few areas for improvement.
that hi control needs some taming...but for what it is ...and i only paid $20...ill keep it for shits and giggles

good call RE silverchair! never even crossed my mind.

I just picked up a cyberdrive in my ever going quest for the weird cheapies. Can't wait to try it!

The DOD Death Metal is awesome. Modded and sold mine a few months back. I need to get another one asap.
Be sure to post what you think of the MD2 if you get one.

I'm going to pick up an md2. Waiting until I go on paternity leave and my income gets savaged. Ds1 and md2 are on the hit list :)

another gem i gotta re-obtain is the ibanez tone-lok smash box.
me and a co-guitarist used to gig those hard...in the early days.

i want some of the rarer sound tanks, cyber punk. fusion as well as the cyber.

an some danelectro stuff...another co-guitarist use to gig the whole food series (including hte danelectro showcase board) through a crate solid state half stack
such horrible tones he had haha.

The few dano food series pedals I've had or played have been good haha...french toast, tune melt, pb&j, black licorice, etc

Been mangling my Ds1 lately. Tempted to rehouse it for more mod room but then I lose the iconic enclosure haha. Check out the Stevens Hyper Drive for a weird Boss ds2 style distortion.

Apparently Behringer made a clone of the Boss Xtortion. Might have to grab one since the XT's are never cheap.
