Re: The Doom Room: ILF Edition
New EGC website went live just in time for NAMM and things are changing...
http://www.electricalguitarcompany.com/
I'm glad I got my order in when I did, saved me a ton of money and allowed me almost endless design options. Just read in the FAQ that they haven't had a price increase since 2003, crazy! The Chessie was $2500 when I purchased but now it's moved into the new "Signature" line at $3200 and offers only polished and powder coat finish options. The rest of the specs are offered as designed, no customizing. I would've had to go full on "Custom" and paid even more to get what I did which makes perfect sense honestly.
The new "Classic" line contains the most popular models and is offered as "semi-customizable" but control configurations aren't included. Only finish and hardware options. That's def a bummer as again, you'd have to go "Custom", pay a little more and wait a little longer.
That said, there's no other way to do what they're doing effectively esp considering the new Travis Bean line. Something had to give. The wait times are ridic cuz Kevin is cool enough to take on any request. Production times should def be decreased when things get rolling with this new setup. Be thankful if you're one of the lucky ones who already placed an order tho, saved a buncha money and have way more freedom regarding the design of your instrument.

And after a two day lull, the crazy awesome gear pron resumes!
Cool finish on that sg, makes it look really bright.

My guitarist had a NGD yesterday as well!
LTD Phoenix, sits so perfectly stable, riffing with it is so smooth, your hand just glides on the neck. Sounds great too, two volumes no tone.

Re: The Doom Room: ILF Edition
Those new SGJ's are soooo nice. I got mine around Xmas on sale for $399 shipped and it's one of the best playing SGs I've ever tried. Tons of resonance and sustain, just really lively for a 6.5lb thin body guitar. I also like the new '61 Gibson Zebra pickups, high output with a little more spank and high end than other Gibson HBs.
That Fireburst looks good Krosis! I got the Vintage Sunburst and the satin finish looks and feels excellent.

Recently ordered a 5-ply '61-style small guard for mine but it had to be custom cut by WD as the 24 fret neck pushed the pickups a little closer to each other than normal. As a result, the standard Gibson guard wouldn't quite fit.
I also swapped the Nashville bridge for an ABR-1 using conversion studs/posts. That way I could get more string clearance and lower the tailpiece to my liking. Good to go now, great guitar at a ridiculously low price.

Got to see Weedeater, Black Cobra and Grayceon last night. Weedeater was playing through rented gear. Half way into the first song Dixie Dave blows the SVT. I've never heard of him blow up a Concert Bass and they're always on 10 when I've seen them. Just in case anyone is trying to decide if an old solid state Sunn will still hold up under hard use.

If it can survive Dixie, it can survive damn near anything.louderthangod wrote:Got to see Weedeater, Black Cobra and Grayceon last night. Weedeater was playing through rented gear. I've been flipping as much as I've been buying honestly. Sold 4 amps recently. Busy refurbing my V2 with some of those funds.

Updated board pic, so I can feel cool and in on all these sweet ass new gear posts. Very excited to have two boards going. Need to add a few things, and will always be trying out new dirt, but overall I am extremely happy with all the sounds I can cover.

EDIT - Thanks Chankgeez

Re: The Doom Room: ILF Edition
some really nice guitars over the last pages…Love that explorer, that really took no time at all getting to UK from Japan.
Those new SG's look really cool…and the LTD Pheonix…I've been looking to buy one of those in the near future, i'm looking at the White one…good to know a fellow doomster rates them well.
and T-Rey…nice pedalboards man…i love how all your gear is arranged so neatly!…also…where the hell did you find that Mastortion pedal? they are super rare...

Re: The Doom Room: ILF Edition
Thanks! It's always arranged neatly since it never leaves my man cave
The Mastortion came from one of the builders only retailers like 4-5 years ago the only time he ever opened up the waiting list that I'm aware of. I wouldn't be surprised if there are less than 100. I use it as a boost for dirty amps, and honestly it sounds kind of like when you boost an already filthy amp with a Rat. But I love it and will never get rid of it since I'm a fanboy, you never really see them, but mostly because it was my graduation present from my mom when I finished grad school
