big muff pi mod- help

Post by vegedge »

so i have a big muff pi. i did the tone bypass mod exactly like shown here..

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GwERx7LuUOk

seemed easy enough. i soldered it all up. i used a on/off/on dpdt 6 lug switch (they sent me this instead of a on/off) and i have tone bypass, but unable to flick back to tone enabled. the 3 way switch does tone bypass(towards the lugs with no wires connected) and the other two just hum with no guitar sound..

is this because i used the on/off/on instead of the on/off?
i like the tone bypass alot, but want to be able to switch back to normal aswell! halp!

Strange, even with an on / off / on DPDT you should get the desired settings at the extreme left or right.
Im not sure what the to expect of the off position in this mod.
