So, i've not used delay a lot, but my playing tastes having been moving towards hypnotic/building/atmospheric recently and i feel like i'd like a new delay. I currently use a dd3, but i'd like to just keep that as a constant for fattening up stuff.
I was initially hooked on the echo dream 2 from the vids i saw, but i'm now wondering how it measures up against the disaster transport.
Anyone had both, or have compelling atguements for either? I like the idea of some inbuilt drive on the echo 2, but i also like the idea of reverb on the dt sr.
Incidentally, i probably won't be using any long delays (i think).

I haven't played the echo dream but I use both a disaster transport and a disaster transport sr. on my board. The DTSR is completely worth it. with the two separately switchable delay lines and the foot controllable feedback and bleed the amount of mid song control you have is pretty unbeatable. You can have the first delay line set for what ever light ambience you want and then slowly increase the bleed to create a noise wash mid phrase and then back it out.
With the modulation on the first delay line you go from flange, to leslie, to faux ring-mod easily.

Yeah, I was watching the demos for the DTSR, and it just sounds amazing. I can't see the benefit of the Echo Dream over the DTSR, other than the fuzz (i'l like it to add the low to med gain), and cost. The DTSR is a pricey beast!
I worry that the DTSR maybe way more delay than I need though.

Well. I first got interesed in the Echo Dream 2 as I saw one on soneone's board on youtube. Looked it up, seemed pretty awesome. Really like the idea of modulation, and fuzz integrated. Then when I was looking at modulated delays, the DTSR came up a lot, and seems to have a great rep. I kinda discounted the DMM due to the centre positive plug (really freakin annoys me).vidret wrote: there are so many more delays though, what made you pick those 2? maybe there are more that fit the same criteria that people know of
I'm sure there are many more, so I am open to schooling for sure!
