Im a giant fan of harsh noise and music with an overall abusive atmosphere. KHANATE is one of my favorite groups ever. I think a lot of people "don't get" them because they go into it expecting a doom supergroup or something similar. KHANATE isn't about good times. They aren't about the gear or the logo or the names. They aren't the sum of their parts. KHANATE is about oppression. KHANATE is about bumming you the fuck out. KHANATE is about as harsh noise as you get while still being orchestrated. This shit is about wailing in the filthy corner of an abandoned building. If they don't "move you" thats fine but i seriously question you "liking harsh noise".

i didn't the thread. you dont like the music? you don't like the lyrics? vocal delivery, ambiance? i find them refreshing. i find lots of tasty musical twists and turns, and the lyrics are interesting.

ohhhhh. i see. totally get where he's coming from. i get that same feeling from pop music in general, encompassing the entire....form. They've looked beyond art and music and are just coming from some void with outstretched arms for putting into your pockets and taking your money.

This is why I can't get into conversations about music with most people. Because I totally agree with UG and totally adore stuff like Khanate.

For me, here just so bleak and depressing that I can't help but laugh at how overwrought it is. Love the band, find them genuinely confronting at times but with most really intense things that I like in all forms of art there's an element of the straight up ridiculous about it too.

I get it, it's the same reason why people don't like psychological movies or horror movies... it's that psychological effect that it makes on you and how introspective it makes you... Just too much for some and it's nothing to be ashamed of

i feel like i need to get hooked up on this though... i somehow enjoy things that are intense like this, we shall see... it has this psychological self-harm aspect to it, but currently i'm going through tough times, so i might need to cleanse

Khanate rules, but dase's right, it's definitely ridiculous. Like.... you're in a band that does this? Just this? Talk about exploring a narrow band of human expression. It's pretty akin to pop music, in that way.
