is this pedal doa?

Post by Uncle Grandfather »

received a masf possessed pedal today, but i cannot get it to power up. tried wall warts, pp2, nothing works. what's weird is that no matter how many times i press the bypass i cannot get a clean signal to go through. you know, even if a pedal isn't connected to power in bypass the clean signal will still go through.

any ideas? i'm guessing its back to the store for a replacement. :( :grumpy:

thanks in advance

Sorry to hear that. I got a Possessed last year that worked fine for a day, then it started doing basically the same as yours. I got a replacement from the dealer, and all is well. I think Behndy has had good luck with his also, but I have read about MASF having some QC issues in the past. Maybe yours is from an older run before they worked out the kinks? It's a rad pedal, and worth getting a working version if you can.
'Tis better to have bought and flipped than never to have bought at all.

Thanks for the info. Its a real bummer but QC problems happen. I'm going to try another and keep my fingers crossed.
Thanks again :joy:

just wanted to give props to Tone Factor, whom I bought my masf pedals from. They replied to hold onto the pedal as a replacement was on the way to them, which they'll check out first before sending onto me along with a prepaid shipping box to return the defective unit in. Seems pretty cool, and saves me time with shipping.

Thanks for the input. The Ma.s osc03 I ordered at the same time seemed fine. Then i did a video, and was about to make another when one of the switches wasn't working....... :grumpy: .......was just a dying battery :) I'm pretty excited about the possessed :thumb:
