Huge old Peavey 4x12s??

What was the model number of those huge old peavey 4x12s?

says 412M on the back of mine. I think it went with the butcher or vtm.

412MS on mine. Not huge, the same size as any Marshall-type slant 4x12. Maybe the later ones were bigger?

Those are the ones with the ports and are the size of a 6x10/8x10.

Here's a photo of the one I had. I sold it. Kind of regret that now except that it was really hard to move around and I didn't/don't have a van.

Yeah, that's exactly what I had.

There's not a lot of info out there. I think they released several cabs with this style, the biggest variation being with speakers.

The one I had was equipped with some old ass CTS speakers. Not sure if they were stock or not.

i think i have one of the early 412MS cabs with the metal grill and the logo they use now (there's a 412MS cab they made in the late 90's with a different style logo if you look it up..still has the metal grill though i think..mine's the pointy version). the cab sounds surprisingly good. when its behaving, it has a nice warm low end which is right up my alley. it can be a tiny bit noisy at times though..i guess depending on where I'm standing or how loud my head is turned up. i also have a XXX cab and i hate it now...its the complete opposite. all mids and highs...total garbage cab. i want to sell it...but i also want to set it on fire. i'm torn.

I live up in idaho so a bit too far away for me but thanks for the tip

I had one that was like that but instead of ports on the top and bottom it had two thin ports in the center. It was my first real speaker cabinet and I loved it to pieces. A bassist in an old band borrowed it and destroyed it, which is a shame cause I'd still be using that thing to this day otherwise.
