Sounds good dude.Corey Y wrote:People have been bringing up RATs into fuzzes a lot lately, so I played around with some different combinations and wrote a song around the tones. RAT into a Pharaoh and RAT into a Meathead Dark clone, along with RAT on bass. I liked it, tightened everything up enough to get some nice palm muting and made it a little meaner sounding. I'm really loving my Wizard and Cthulhu best for fuzzes lately though, so I'm itching to try a similar setup with Nick's Volt Thrower pedal in place of the RAT, when I get the Dunwich tourbox.

Those Sonex are sweet!
Dudes, need input - good standard sized delay with trails? Prefer analog if possible, or darker voiced and oscillation. Love my Carbon Copy but miss the trails. Kinda holding out for the Minifooger but might pull the trigger on something smaller to stay with my PT Mini.
Other things I should've quoted but didn't:
Congrats on the band crohny.
That silverburst Sonex is sex.
I need to donate to Darren's charity raffle as well. Very cool of you to do that, and I hope it's a big success
Thanks duder. Recorded a demo last night. So far the song clocks in at 8 minutes and 36 seconds. Going to extend this one part which shold bring it closer to 10 minutes. So far I am fucking pumped.

Meathead...into Rat? Hmm. I have a one knob enclosure just sitting around here.Ancient Astronaught wrote:You should try the meathead maxxed into the rat with gain max filter full ccw and volume max GUH!!! BTW love the tones and riffs in that track!!! If you doubled the speed you could convince me it was converge!![]()
Pharaoh size enclosure is standard apparently.AxAxSxS wrote:I just hope it ends up in a smaller enclosure than the WIzard fuzz, that things HUGE! Worth the real estate but HUGE!

Yes, if you watched my cab comparison video a couple pages back that is the dirt sound you hear; dirge built turret board meathead > Rat2 w/ lm308n chipGrrface wrote:Meathead...into Rat? Hmm. I have a one knob enclosure just sitting around here.
Oh and because of you I'm struggling between volt thrower or small box rat tail....

I'll go check that out! Small box rat tail is where it's at... Tiny, but sounds oh so good. I've been thinking of selling mine to try and pick up a bigger box with the second distortion setting. Cause low gain pushes pedals nicely, but high gain, with P bass pickup into Traynor is SO GOOD.Ancient Astronaught wrote:Yes, if you watched my cab comparison video a couple pages back that is the dirt sound you hear; dirge built turret board meathead > Rat2 w/ lm308n chipGrrface wrote:Meathead...into Rat? Small box Rat Tail is my jam but lately it's been all Demon King into Pharaoh.Grrface wrote:I'll go check that out! Small box rat tail is where it's at... Tiny, but sounds oh so good. I rocked a similar combo for a long long time before I realized I'm definitely more of a distortion than muff kinda guy.odontophobia wrote:Small box Rat Tail is my jam but lately it's been all Demon King into Pharaoh.

Just a quick reminder to get those Ape Blaster entries! I was hoping to get a bunch more with the cash I was up from the cab trades, but now with the van having issues, I'm holding off till I figure out the problem and what it will cost to fix.

Re: The Doom Room: ILF Edition
I have the Demon King and Pharaoh both set to low gain so it just thickens up nicely. The rat doesn't play as nicely with my JetCity PicoValve, though coupled with the Demon King it loved the Red Bear MK60 so that's why it's still around, I just need to get the RedBear and the VTM retubed and a general going over. Definitely something I feel cool with, eh...Ancient Astronaught wrote:I rocked a similar combo for a long long time before I realized I'm definitely more of a distortion than muff kinda guy.odontophobia wrote:Small box Rat Tail is my jam but lately it's been all Demon King into Pharaoh.
