I've had mine a week or so. The random modes are my favorite because I can get pleasing sounds without much effort or forethought. The other modes seem way too algorithmic to just pick up and expect good results.
The Rainbow is still a mystery to me. The only thing I can really get that I like is that super crazy magic sound that is so heavy handed and clearly the Rainbow Machine that I just can't in good conscience ever see myself using it.
Anybody got some tips in cracking the code of making these sound good and unique without pigeonholing it as a one trick pony?

Rainbow machine is a bit tricky at first but once you really get to know it theres tons of goodies.
My favorite setting is this sort of detuned chorus sound that also slightly arpeggiates. I usually have it sitting quite low in relation to the direct signal so it adds body and space without overwhelming the sound.

try messing with just the secondary knob and leaving the primary at 0.
or pitch somewhat center, magic at around 12 or 1. some eery delay sounds are to be had.

This thing is so awesome. I can only imagine what Slash would have done with it in the late 80s. GnR arent my cup of tea, but a guy with that type of talent for arps on guitar would have changed the game with a tool like this! Amazing pedal.
