Octaver Bass head
My bass head is flurge and I'm not really sure I wanna invest money into gettin it repaired. Just a behringer 300xt. Nothing fancy and would cost ten dollars less than a used one to repair. However, it is an essentially aspect of my band to have the octaver effect.
Wondering if you guys can recommend any other brands that have heads with octave dividers built in. I may just get a normal head and add a pedal but wanna avoid if possible.
Any experience with that TC electronic head with the tone print?

Dude, go with a better head with a pedal. The MXR Bass Octave and the EBS bass octave pedal are outstanding and will do just as good a job if not better than the behringer head. I know you're hesitant but seriously....take the plunge.

I've played through one of those amps at a jam once and "to me" that effect was more of a subharmonic processor like a DBX or a meat box then a octave divider

Yeah. Recently I've been borrowing heads and using a pitch shifter for the bass amp and it's far from the same. Usually high notes didn't track which was ideal. I'm not sure what's gonna happen. Definitely don't have enough to get a head currently though.

Do you have some kind of pre amp? if so you could pick up a old power amp cheap and go the rack rout, then you could just add stuff as you go, like, more power a better pre and something like a DBX 120 and so forth.

Peavey Kosmos is a solid subharmonic generator, too. Because it's Peavey it might come up cheap used. (I gather v1 and v2 are both good.)
