Re: the DOOM WORKOUT
Yeah ok, I do that too. My knees also angle in too much when I'm really struggling. Good form overall though man, I see so many dudes doing half/hack squats. I've discovered if you find the right momentum going down, it actually makes it easier to go deep and power up. Don't half ass it (not that you are). I also use one of those squat support things you snap on to the bar cuz I'm fragile and it hurts my finely groomed manback.
I'm afraid to post any vids of my DL form but probably should for feedback.

Vid said just focus on pushing from my heels each and every time. The groin thing is just irritation so I need to rehab it. Sometimes during a rep I will pause at the bottom and eliminate the bounce/stretch reflex and make it more difficult. Won't be able to do that when I start to reach higher weights tho.
Yea I saw a kid barely even doing 1/3 squats today, I was speechless.

Re: the DOOM WORKOUT
Edited my post. I only noticed you stall once on the down but that will hinder you for sure. When the weight gets heavy I tend to do the same thing and lean into it rather than pressing on my heels. Working on it...
I'm anxious to see where you get with SL, you've got a great head start. Rich Froning here we come.

Haha rich froning. I need to always exploit the bounce, make each rep easier. Pause squats at useful for adding a layer of difficulty but SL is soon going to get weighty for me. I think my goal in the next 6 months would be to get to 300#

Re: the DOOM WORKOUT
300# squat reps and 2x body weight DLs. Let's do this.
Rich Froning is a beast. Kind of a douche, but a fit mo fo for sure.

Yea he grates my nerves but no denying he wins at CrossFit.
But if you wanna see some serious squats then check Lu

That's 260 kg squats and only weighs 73 kg. looks effortless
He is the WR holder for snatch and total (snatch plus clean and jerk) for the 77 kg class.

Holy shit that's humbling. And I was just thinking there's no way I'll reach 300# squats.

I think its doable. Vid said that lots of people get caught in the 250-260 range for a bit and then slowly make gains over time. So who knows how it will pan out.

Next week is a deload week. Probably a good time given the stupidly large amount of traveling I'll have to do.

Good position with the bar here atleast. Its close right on my hips/abdomen and I am getting good extension.
what shoes are you wearing??
I have been wanting to get some decent shoes to lift in since I do most of my lifts barefoot. I feel that I can spread my "wide" foot better than in any shoe. The only thing is that I wish I had some elevation in the heel. Anyone know of some decent onces that wont break the bank? Prob under $100.
So far I see the Adidas Powerlift 2.0 as the only option at that price range.

Re: the DOOM WORKOUT
the feel nice when you squat I will say. Not an awful investment since you wont be wearing them outside of the squat rack 99% of the time

The wifes car just went into the mechanics shop, so my tentative show purchase is now on hold! gotta keep lifting bare foot for now.
