This is how I set the EQ for mine as well, gain cranked on the GE setting. Crushing.
But I will ill have to follow your example and try some low-gain tones, too.

The left tone all the way down with the highs all the way up does sound better, still not sure its a keeper yet but that seems to have put me on the right track

I personnaly love it at a lower volume as well. I live in a flat and play it through my Vox AC15HW1 on a regular basis. It's actually one of the best fuzzes I've ever heard in so many situations. Kind of my holy grail of fuzz I guess.
My take on it is that op is WEIRD.

It could just be because i have so much more fuzz hanging around or that ive tried. The Supercollider is hard to beat, the only thing it doesnt have is loads of gain but i use my Donner Party for that.
Maybe i should have tried the LSTR instead

I've got both an Acid Age Supercollider and a Pharaoh. The SC definitely brings the party at low-mid volumes with a more gratifying sizzle, but the Pharaoh with diodes-out going into either the low or high sensitivity inputs on a 50W JCM 800 definitely brings the heavies. It really tames the high end on that amp. The sizzle and the steak
The LSTR might be more up your alley…..I've only listened to sound samples but to me it sounded gain-ier and more compressed than the Pharaoh. YMMV.
Its not that i wanted more gain, although it does seem to have more than the supercollider on the Si, its that i wanted something with more lowend and a bit boomier than the SC.
Its sorta boomier but its more like muddy.
