New Alice in Chains album

Post by dragline »

Anyone into AIC? Heard the new album?

I was a big fan back in the 90s and consider Dirt one of my top albums of all time, but since Layne Staley died, I just figured they would leave it. Cantrell had a decent solo career, there didn't seem to be much point resurrecting AIC.

But they have, and they have a new singer. But...it's not doing it for me. It sounds like he's doing Staley impersonation, and most of the songs are either sung by Cantrell, or are both of them anyway.

I dunno, sometimes I think somethings better left alone. :idk:

I like it a lot. I think their new singer is great. I dig the old stuff also. Duvall does sing similar to Staley on some songs but has more of his own voice on others. I've seen them twice in concert this year. Fantastic performances.
