Mellowtone Wolf Computer

Post by Gigahearts_FX »

Hi

I got the parts to make an original mini Wolf Computer from a friend ages ago, who knew the dude that once built them.
He didnt have time or inclination to finish building it so passed it on to me.
Put it together and let her rip today. Really cool fuzz!

Think these are hard to come by these days so its nice to have. Might trade it at some point but for now I will play :)

Cool! The WC is a cool one for sure. Think I've owned and played more of them than any other pedal, haha.

That build would have been a little easier to do with the tiny green pots that are board mounted :thumb: Also, looks like you are missing some stuff.

BEST FUZZ EVER! This fuzz is essentially what I base all my gear purchases on. If it doesn't sound good with the wolf then it's out. It's too good!

(I've got three of them right now and there was a time when I had five)

I've had 3 incarnations, a standard big box, stereo deluxe, and 2 knob party favor. The 2 knob was hands down my favorite.

Ahhh so that's how they're meant to be used.

Also, those extra parts are pointless and can easily be replaced with input grounding.

Yeah but them pots are 3x the cost, and the gate stuff isn't needed if you use input grounded true bypass :)

I've seen like three different schematics around -- have you been able to verify a "right" one?

Yea, wasn't paying enough attention to his switch.

Scruffie, Lace, or I I'm sure could confirm one of the schematics you've got there Gone FIssion

Let's see, there's this:

This:

And this:

I haven't looked at 'em in a while, but I recall them not quite being in agreement.

Damn, I was gonna try that one. I figured it was accurate since it was posted in the same thread the designer posted in.
