Vox Trike Fuzz mod question.

Post by ManOfMystery »

Hey all quick question. I am really digging the insane tone of the new Trike fuzz with awful graphics from Vox. The only problem is that they have a mini toggle on it that goes [sub octave] [sub and upper octave] or [upper octave only]. I like the upper and sub octave sounds, but I wish you could turn it off and just have pure fuzz with no octave additions, is there any way you could maybe turn the middle toggle position into a no octave effect option instead of having both on at once? Then it could be [sub] [dry just fuzz] and then [upper]? I would imagine you just cut the connections to the middle toggle position but then again I have never messed with circuits. Any of you gearheads know for sure?

That's a strange pedal. Based on Vox's site the switch actually goes... "You can choose three types of octave settings: +1 or, -1 and -2, or all upward and downward octaves"

Could you open it and post a picture of the board and toggle switch?

Curious about that fuzz -- all comments I've seen on it are generally positive about the sound, but mention the odd implementation. If it's easily reverse engineered it could be fun.
