I just sat down and jammed with all three volcas and some reverb peds... I am without words... it was perfect.

What do Volca Beats owners make of the snare sound? Some people seem to dislike that aspect of the device. .

i was chatting with Casavettie-vets about this. i'm not the best person to ask, i'm spoiled 'cause i've been all Maschine and Battery for drums for like 7 years now. so many damn options when it's same driven bit pieces.
i don't hate it though. it sits well with the other kit pieces on the Beats. and you get a fair amount of tweaking.
i kinda like that there's a tiny bit of stepping on the filters on all three too. makes it sample and hold'ish.
