What kind of fuzz do you lovvvvveeee
So I got to thinking the other day that I just use off the wall crazy fuzz now. When I need something light I just roll back the volume on channel 2 of the Marshall dsl. When I first joined this site I liked mild fuzz like fuzz faces, but now years later I use fuzz for weird textures. I loop a lot solo so I like glitchy synthy sounding fuzz's. what fuzz do you guys love the most at this period of your life and why ?!?!??

I was a big muff guy for the longest time, but in the last couple years I've been getting more and more into the grindier side of fuzz. Currently I'm using a Tone Machine, an Orbit, an Aenima and soon I'll have a custom one finished which is fuzzrite-based.

versatile ones, really. I totally get the appeal and benefits of a 'set and stomp' fuzz like a muff, but I just find myself happier in the long run with something I can experiment with in greater depth. The Great Destroyer is what I have right now, and it certainly fits my requirements. GASing for a tafm something fierce though...

It represents my love of light drive that just gives my tone a hint of color.

Yup.skullservant wrote:And Octave Fuzz into muffs
The custom Tone Machine -> Pharaoh LaoWiz built me has been my main fuzzlove on bass since I got it:
1.) Brash yet full/synth-lead-esque sound (Tone Machine, octave off)
2.) Barley discernible chaos (Tone Machine, octave on)
3.) A mild but driven "notched" sound (Tone Machine, octave on, vol knob rolled back)
4.) Sludge (Pharaoh, germanium setting, everything cranked)
5.) "Mechanical Death" (both stacked, octave on)
I would like to get something more on the gated/sputtery/oscillating/unpredictable side of things, but overall I'm happy with these flavors.
Would also like to try a Brassmaster one of these days.
