Aaaahhh... you're playing gigs where they let you soundcheck? Cool!
mumble mumble shitty gigs we're playing are shitty... mumble mumble
yeah. And we are only two persons in the band. So i have plenty of time to tweak my two amps to the sitation. And i just run loops and then turn the knobs without playing. Helps a fast setup / dial in process.

Even when we have time to do that, I prefer to keep it to making sure shits working. I hate it when bands sit up there and fine tune their sound for half an hour before playing thier 115 minute set.

Anything I can do to make stuff sound right with minimal fuss I'm all for. Stickers work great. I love the gold star idea :thumb:

not commenting on anyone here, just a pet peeve.

Is it weird that i can remember pretty much the exact position for every knob on every amp and pedal without ever having to mark it?

But yeah, for gigs i never get time to do much more than make sure the volume is ok :grumpy:

He's made a grown man piss himself and a woman let him up her skirt. If that's not the aim of playing the guitar, I don't know what is. Get them strings and frets off!

Yeah this is how I work it. Stuff sounds different in different rooms and band contexts so I don't like to rely on knowing positions. Plus when it comes to gigs, tbh I'm not really that fussy about my sound, so long as it's loud and bright enough to melt some faces.

just tried turning my EQ all the way up...

the bad thing is that this 1x12" combo has too much bass when i do that - and i don't mean the good kind, i mean MUD... the good thing is once i keep it back a bit (tiny bit above half, lol), the rest is fucking awesome

turned off the bright switch again when doing this, it's pretty similar with the treble and mid all the way up, just a bit less noisy

:hello:

anyway why not got he Larry LaLonde way and not make yourself stickers for your knobs with painted arrows pointing up? Easy to get rid of

The advantage of this is that it's really hard to actually bump the stickers, even if you shove your cables or whatever on top of your board. It's a bitch getting them on but they are super easy to peel off, and I haven't had one move on me in the year or so I've been using them. They're pretty unobtrusive as well - from normal playing height you don't even notice them.

Obviously trying some new shit in this photo - which also means that you can easily find favourite settings again!

what are those pancake connectors you're using?
the ones that i have are too wide for the top of my pedals (like the elements) and they get in the way of the power supply.
