Would definitely be cool to have it in a bigger enclosure with some of the internal stuff brought out as external controls. And I would kill for a TeaspoonCAS with the wet/dry blend of the TeaspoonSLIGHT...

I've got an original one, not the CAS, not the slight, just the plain oldschool teaspoon.

It really wouldn't be hard to clone at all. It's a Princeton Delay chip, and not a lot else. 3 pots, an input, output. A battery and a DC power input, a momentary switch. Some voltage scaling done with a half dozen or so resistors and a couple of caps for power coupling etc.

If you had the PT chip on hand and a drawer of random common components you could breadboard the thing in a half hour. If you'd never breadboard before. 8 minutes otherwise.

I can't speak about the CAS but the CV stuff is certainly all standard simple circuits you could dig up from a million places online. I can't see that adding much complexity. I understand there's some internal touch plates on the PCB and maybe some DIP switches as well for "bending" but that's all probably gonna be easy to figure out once you've gotten the core bits of the circuit breadboarded, and really that's not a tough job. There's really very little on that PCB besides the PT chip and sundry voltage management stuff.

yep craig nailed it - i've cracked mine open, so i can attest to it not being overly complex. that being said, i would be interested in production rights for other reasons, which is why i have not made efforts to trace.

kosta wrote:Having looked under the hood on these, I do not envy anyone trying to build these - at least not in that size enclosure. Those little boxes are packed. I believe there are 2 boards in these sandwiched together, and definitely a tilt switch/sensor, a bunch of touch pads and a bank of dip switches. Pretty bananas.
If anyone can put together a nice, clean board, it's SSBS Brian.

ya i took a guess at it. I don't have an original to look at but i thought about it on the bus and came up with this modification to another delay i had made before... sorry the demo is not that good but it was done in a bit of a rush. It's interesting but sort of a one trick pony + not that much delay time.
