Hmmm.... I just decided to order a delaylab. I guess I can live without their upgrades. It looks so good to me right now.

Re: Vox Delay Lab
What are you guys powering the delaylab with? I didn't buy a power source bc the guy assured me I could daisy chain it with a power all, which I was incredibly skeptical about - then took it home, it didn't work with the shitty batteries they included (wow thank for the batteries, you dingbats
), didn't work with a standard 9v but worked with (of course) a EHX 9.6v 200ma dedicated power supply (the kind I use for my Cathedral). Is that the best option? When the batteries didn't work and neither did the 9v I thought I had a bum pedal and I was terrified of heading downtown again, because downtown is for weirdos.
So I guess before I go and blow another $15 on a 200ma 9v I want to know I'm doing the right thing....
Please feel free to

are from australia, dude?retinal orbita wrote:you dingbats
um yeah, those 9.6V supplies are WEIRD... can't remember - do they have a different size barrel connector? because for example certain Boss multi-effect units only work with specific boss PSs, which have a specific size barrel connector
I'd probably go with it, it certainly is a safe choice

Re: Vox Delay Lab
Cheers my friend!! It really does seem to be the only thing that works as the 9v and 9v daisy chain don't even light the f-ing thing up, and the 200ma draw is the same on the EHX one. It's seems like common sense, but I am Canadian so you know it's good to double check......DarkAxel wrote:I'd probably go with it, it certainly is a safe choicemainly safe in terms of noise which can get really annoying with digital delays on daisy chains - mainly the clock noise from tempo indicators and stuff like that... i would sacrifice the 15 dollars
I mean, yo, $15 ain't no thang to me (I'm a f-ing baller?), it's just I don't want it blowing up next week and then I return it and the guy says "oh, you should NEVER use a 9.6 becauv 200ma adapter because after a month it blows up didn't you read the manual?!?!" and also because well, I hate all these wall warts.... but I know a guy who's going to be upgrading to a better power supply and selling me his pedal power, but that hasn't happened so I'm reluctant to buy a new one when I don't have to.

Re: Vox Delay Lab
I've actually had it daisychained using 1spot with other pedals in my mini setup (pt mini board) it worked fine without a problem or noise. Amazingly easy and non finicky pedal! So yeah, you're good to goretinal orbita wrote:What are you guys powering the delaylab with? Re: Vox Delay Lab
Oh yeah, i dig the hate for wall warts...
I certainly see the dilemma... I'd personally buy the EHX thing... if you get a better power supply in the future - great... But for now it¨s Delaylab or no DelayLab
i even think it's good to have some extra PSs laying around even when you upgrade
I ended up helping a friend and giving him my 1-spot after i upgraded to an isolated multi-PS... or generally if something fucks up, you have a backup (or for those moments when your digital pedal needs more mA than the outputs provide or when you've got two demanding pedals and not enough strong outputs...)
i mean i don't think it would be 15 bucks thrown out of a window

I use a 1spot and it's noisy as flurge. Been looking to get a dedicated power supply but not sure what to get. It says AC adapter is optional but I haven't seen a suggested ps. Hope I get a Cioks Link for Xmas. The ring thing and delay lab make my amps noisy. If I take the power off the two it's quiet. So frustrating.

Re: Vox Delay Lab
That's weird. My delaylab doesn't even power up on the one spot. And I just spent 10k having my house rewired..... Get real.......

This. Is. Weird.
Well, just get a dedicated ps then just to be safe

Re: Vox Delay Lab
Been using my One Spot, but haven't done serious daisy chaining with the Delaylab yet. No noise issues for me.
You can use a One Spot with just one pedal. If you're still having noise, I'm guessing stereo with two different amps? Sometimes the two-amp ground loop issue. (NEVER mess with the safety ground. Not worth the risk. Lift the ground on one of the guitar cables to one of the amps.)

Re: Vox Delay Lab
Ye, I feel like my split is the problem as well. The noise comes out of my guitar chain. Bass line is less intense but present. Hopefully an isolated supply fixes this.

Re: Vox Delay Lab
The CIOKS (or the Voodoo Labs stuff) will stop that noise and frustration as long as you get one with enough current and voltage options to keep everything isolated. It's like night and day when compared to the noise with 1Spots or EHX style wall warts. Once you start daisy chaining outs and killing the isolation though, noise can be reintroduced so just get one that's adequate for your entire board.Bellyheart wrote:I use a 1spot and it's noisy as flurge. Re: Vox Delay Lab
the dlab made other shit noisy in the chain
put it on its own cheap wallwart
and it went silent(in the good way)
now im havin issues with one of the channels
makin alot of loudish static
when i put that side through my randall
its fucking unbearable
master vol is on 9 on that
i switched it to the acoustic and its quieter
cause that lives on 4(no master)
the noise doesnt get repeated
so im guessing its a jack issue
