Berlin Wall

20 years ago today the Berlin wall came down.

I shall have a couple of beers this evening to celebrate the event and honor those who gave their lives for this to happen.

I was 13 when this happened and I'll never forget watching it on television... I didn't exactly understand how heavy it was at the time but the images are really burned into my mind. I'd have loved to have been one of those guys with a sledgehammer taking that sucker down.

i used to live next to where the wall was some years ago. the watchtowers still look kinda eerie at night when you imagine what was going on there back then.
hard to believe they came up with that communist dictatorshit right after the third reich(which was without a doubt crap, too).

I think the Soviets might have had something to do with that... Not a lot of people expressing free political beliefs in the German Democratic Republic, with the Soviet Army sitting right there.
