So that Ampeg is cool but I have to turn the treble all the way down (ie: OFF) to get my sound to start happening. I've had to jack up the bass on lots of combo amps but never have I had to turn the treble off. At any rate, it's been fun and now I don't have to feel like a jerk having this 1x12 gathering dust. I think I'll sell off that little Fender Bronco amp now since I don't really need it anymore.

That's weird - I usually keep my treble almost maxed. The cab I'm using has some shit ass v30 clones in there, so they may just be that dark and awful. Either way it's a solid amp and I would gladly trade a couple pedals for another one!
And that's shitty about your friend and your ex-girl. I've got nothing against people dating exes and all that, but you're right - be a fucking man about it and give the dude a heads up about what's happening just out of respect.

It's fucking irritating how quick word spreads, especially on a small campus like this one. It's not that I've been accused of it (at least not to my face), but even having to listen to it just pisses me off. I look forward to graduating and watching the amount of bullshit I have to listen to dwindle away. Well, that type of bullshit anyway.

I was reading a thread last night on the Jet City with Verellen mod and it made me wants to get one even more; but Skip, you mentioned that it lacked bottom end. I'm wondering, given I'm looking at the 50w or 100w heads which come with 6L6 rather than EL84's, would that bottom end come back or you think or it would still be a little thin?
I also noticed that there is the 100w hdm, which has a depth knob, which may help with the bottom end and fullness of the tone.

I don't know about a Jet City, but the depth knob on my Soldano adds a ton of low end to my tone.

I definitely think it would come back, I feel bass missing in every EL84 amp I've played. They def have the sweetest upper mid range and some nice highs though. But going from KT88's to EL84's.... yeah it's missing low end.
But the 100HDM which is basically a outsourced version of conky's amp should have more than enough bass for you, not sure how the clean clean channel works with pedals or how a mod similar to the verellen mod would sound though.
