Monday Pedal Madness/Friday REDUX!!!

Post by Uncle Grandfather »

Had a whooper of a delivery today. so far i've only played them through my vox ac15 with a jvri 69 mustang.

from left to right:
Pig Dog Spectrafuzz.....burns buzzaround clone. aural memory says its pretty close to my vintage unit. high gain.

shin-ei fy-6 superfuzz....godly as i remember them to be

kay fuzz tone....super awesome buzzzy nasty fuzzz that uses a treadle as the tone control.

foxx tone machine....i think this one was bounced around too much in transit. its too soon to tell but a bit different from my foxx wah/tone machine pedal, i think its more aggressive sounding. but too soon to know whats up. :erm:

jmi zonk machine.....version of tonebender mkI with smaller input/output caps and a few resistor tweaks. was gettting cool pinch harmonic type sounds that were more harmonic sqaks and squeals....well i understand why they named it zonk.

i'm trying to figure out how to post clips from my iphone. so if anyone is interested they will be along at some point. :hello:

i'll have to edit in my jerms mkI tonebender in a bit. its still boxed up.

its pretty heavy having all this fuzz to buddy up with :!!!:

flesh couch is here.

Wooooooooow.

I listened to a demo of the Spectrafuzz the other day and thought it sounded incredible. REALLY want one, it's just so big and expensive.. maybe someday.

The mustang looks cool too, i'd probably go for the same colour scheme if i got a jvri. or maybe the natural finish '77.

i got soooo lucky i was checking ebay just when a guy who was obviously strapped for cash put this up for WAY below the going rate. its damn close to sounding like a real burns buzzaround. i need to a/b...i probably won't. but yeah, it sounds amazing and i think i'm going to take a much closer look at pig dog pedals.

edit: oh yeah, i am so in love with that mustang. i think i want to find an actual set of vintage 69 pups for it, but really the stock pups sound really nice....and i don't really have a reference for what a vintage would sound like. natural finish 77, i just looked that up. thats classy man  . that's a touch call.

Thanks. I order so many records all the time that it gets ridiculus when like 12 or 13 separate boxes all arrive on one day, and this happens weekly at least. so i've taken to meeting the mail man at the box and saving him the trouble. this load was quite the handful. :)

turns out the foxx tone machine is 100% operable. just needed some knob turning and switch flippin. still not sure it has the same sonic signature as the foxx wah/volume/fuzz pedal. too much fuzz everywhere  Life is good
