Digitech jamsync question...
anyone use digitechs jamSync?
I've got some questions on how it works, specifically on using different loop lengths.
In this video (at 0:29) they say : "synchronizes different length loops"

does this mean that I can start a master loop.
and then my sync'ed bassist can record a loop of 2X (twice as long) ontop of that? or 4X (four times as long)? or .5X (half as long)?
or is it always 1X the length of the master?
what do they mean by "different length loops"?

Re: Digitech jamsync question...
If your master loop is length N, your slaves will have loop length X*N, where X is some integer. For example, you set a 10 second master loop, your slave loops will clock :10, :20, :30, :40, etc.., depending on when you stop them. Your slaves can't be shorter than the master.
Here's another good clip showing the sync'ing in action:

Thanks for fixing that, the youtube tags don't seem to work for me. Maybe it's because my account is new.

I'm very interested in hearing what you think. Reviews online so far leave much to be desired.

Re: Digitech jamsync question...
the little buggers sound great. very transparent and one knob for loop volume is as straight forward as it gets.
so I had Sync cables going all over the place, & kept switching (between three pedals) who was the "master"
if you dont plug in your sync cables properly I was getting clicking (timer) noise in my signal.
but you've got to be dim not to understand that they go out>in, out>in... DUH.
plug things in properly and no noise! excellent.
The pedal is simple enough to use. I've got to get used to the idea that a stopped loop is STILL loaded and ready to go! hitting the looper doesn't start recording, but restarts the recorded loop.
You must erase (hold down the stomp) if you want to start up something different.
doing the click/click/hold dance gets some getting used to.
the undo/redo function is nice and I expect I'll be using that.
My only criticism of the pedal (while set up in sync mode) is that IF someone else is the master, and they haven't punched in the desired loop length (ie they've erased their loop), you can't do shit with your pedal. You have to wait for the master pedal to record a phrase length, and then you can only use a multiple of that length for your slave loop.
I also ran into some problems that slave loops couldn't be 10X or other weird multiple lengths of the master length. It would default to a 4, 8, 16 type length cutting off the beginning or end of your phrase accordingly. I'll have to run more tests on that - maybe we were just fucking up in our odd phrases.
there's three of us in the band that could potentially use them synced. and I'm already thinking about buying 2 others so I would be using 3 just for myself - maybe I'll just convince the other guys to buy their own if this is an idea in the band that we'll be exploring more (it's to be seen)
My flashback (that I was using as looper) isn't on my board anymore, and I'm happy because it's buffer (not a bad sounding one) would be on all the time while in looper mode - the jamman express is true bypass.
