Getting more high-end out of a Swollen Pickle?

Post by ancientbones »

Hi, I'm new to the forum and just want to know what the best way to getting more high end out of the Swollen Pickle would be.

Should I stack it with an overdrive? Would that even help? Maybe an EQ pedal?

I'm using a Marshall MOSFET Lead 100 and an Ibanez Roadstar II (early 80's Strat copy) if that helps.

You could try running a bright overdrive into the pickle. That's usually helps me with muff-type pedals.

Any suggestions on a bright overdirve? I've thought about getting a Joyo Ultimate Drive, which is a clone of an OCD, but I don't know if that'll be bright enough.

Open it up and play with the internal trimpots first. Adjusting these clipping and scoop trims will completely change the character and how the external knobs affect the sound. It's pretty easy to dial out the muffness and make it more like a fuzzrite or a maestro.

The following questions are not meant to be snarky.

Can you turn up the treble on your amp?

What are your settings for the Pickle?

You need more treble on a Mosfet Lead 100? o.O

Also, internal settings are your friend! The voice control makes the tone really piercing when you pull it all the counter-clockwise.

Hmmm maybe I've got the trim pots set wrong. I messed with them a lot. I think right now they're both set to all the way clockwise. Thanks for the suggestions guys! Mucho love.

Also I do have the treble boosted a bit on the amp. Not too high, though. :( been having to deal with the mixed channels since I havent found a footswitch that works with it, but hey, i guess that gives this amp a little more character in some ways.
