I love really dirty music (grindcore, pv, noise), so I've become accustomed to feedback.

Re: anyone have brilliant feedback suppression tricks?
the feedback i was referring to in this thread (which i eliminated by changing to a different pickup) is not the cool sounding everything-cranked-to-eleven kind of feedback. it was shitty microphonic pickup garbage. i have no problem with intentional feedback. i listen to plenty of harsh music. i just want my shit to be controllable.Josh Pelican wrote:I love really dirty music (grindcore, pv, noise), so I've become accustomed to feedback.

i was able to fix the issue. i added some additional compressible foam around the magnet, and that was enough to kill the vibrations that were causing the howls. it's sounding great now.

Glad it's better, but here's what I WOULD'VE written:
Did you mount with springs? If you did, try replacing the springs with surgical tubing. Yup, surgical tubing.
It makes the pickup vibrate less.
