There could be amps better suited, but i've found its more important where the amp and pedal levels are set. obviously headroom is an important consideration.

The two amps I've had that have flawlessly taken fuzz are my Sunn Sceptre, and my old fender concert II. Wish I still had that thing.
If you want the sparkle, I'd probably go the Fender/Vox route. If you get a deal on an old ampeg v series you might like it too.

Thanks for all the great suggestions! I'm in Australia so it may be a little harder to come some of the vintage gear. Will give some of the new fenders a run and see how they go. Any suggestions on models to check out?

The usual suspects, mostly: Fender Twin, Marshall JTM/JMP/JCM800, Orange, Matamp, Traynor, Hiwatt, Laney... All sound lovely with a good fuzz pedal.

Personally, I'd stay away from higher-gain amps (Mesa Rectifiers, Peavey 5150, Diezel VH4, etc.). They just don't sound *right* to me with a fuzz in front, but ymmv.

Ive got a similar set up. AC15c1 and I use mainly topboost. I tend to keep the volume on the TB at around 10 and the master at noon or above. Light OD comes from speaker cranker and then Dirt transmitter for fuzz. The DT sounds fantastic with these setting. Nasty, sustainy, feedbacky, sexy, voluminous fuzz.

You can't take amp distortion or voicing away, which is why I like my Fender and Roland cleans.
This.

If you can find a Music Man amp, I definitely recommend those as well.
