Tremolessence and Hummingbird are my favorites. Totally different, and totally awesome.

Reviews are mixed, but I've owned a half dozen other pedals in that series and had no complaints.
I've got a VT-2, the predecessor that is only mildly different than a VT-3. Sine-wave amp-like trem. A lot of people would like it but I find it tremendously boring. Not bad, just boring. I like square-wave and other aggressiveness in my trems. And messing with the wave symmetry. The trem in the Adrenalinn can pull some very nice tricks in that vein (or go very conventional).

Idiotbox mad doctor is really good for straight, choppy on/off tremolo. Got to fuck around with one via tourbox, and its dope. And the price is insanely low.

Idiotbox man, im a fucking fanboy to the core now.

Enpress tap trem. Chop? Yes! Asymmetric ampish trem? Check. Massive amounts of gain to correct perceived volume loss, or to use as a boost with depth at 0? Yes!

Best trem ever.

I've got a Goatkeeper 2 and a Keeley modded Boss TR-2. I love them both. Just which the TR-2 could get a liiiiittle it choppier. The mod really improves it though.
Otherwise, like people have said, the Tremolessence is supposed to be aaaawesome. Haven't tried it though. However, I did have an Empress Tap Tremolo (version 1) and I never liked how it sounded. I got the goatkeeper and never looked back.

Guess you might as well check out the redwitch pentavocal. Its a very transparent tremolo, with a 5 way switch for preset beginning spot's that go from treble heavy to bass heavy. has an interesting bass/treble cut knob that affects the effect, can also get asymmetrical wave. volume for dealing with any drop from deep tremmin. can get the typical and some unusual modulations.

the tremolessence is a cool unit too, i've got them both and i'm not suprised so many others praise it.

Hummingbird at low depth is a really nice sound as well. It colours the sound, but in a super nice way.

Have you guys ever used the Line 6 Tap Tremolo pedal? I'm looking at it specifically for its peak knob; the ability to have a faster trem when you play harder, and slower when you play it soft. I used this effect (via a POD) on a record and we're probably going to be playing live, but I don't know of any other trem pedals that have this feature.

edit: also because it has dreamy bias trem

You can do that with the trems on the m5

Don't do it!

The tap is ridiculous - you half press the switch to set it. Which means if you are heavy footed you turn the thing off. There is no rate multiplier which makes fast tempos impossible. And there is no averaging function either, which makes accuracy an impossible dream.
And it feels like it is made of lead. Solid lead.

But the bias sound is super good.

Very good to know.

I completely forgot about the M5. It has literally the exact same thing I used on the recording, and it would be handy to have all the other effects as a nice Swiss army knife. Might be the way to go.
