I need a bigger pedal board...or do I?

So fellas, I'm sitting here looking at all these wonderful pedals that I have and wondering if I should get a bigger pedal board with more power or just rotate everything occasionally. I know...I know...first world problems right?

On the sidelines, getting no love but wanting it badly, Industrialectric Incinerator, Improbability Drive, Pitchgrinder (incoming), soon to have something or multiple somethings from Solid Gold FX, and a Bit Quest. Sooooooooo I'm outta room, but not outta love. No sir. Oh and I want to eventually add a Timeline and Bigsky.

So my options are to get rid of things that aren't as necessary and move on things that are, but really, why not just get a bigger board? I mean fuck it? Right??? Or a second board? I dunno. What do you guys think?

Here's my board at it's current state. I'm starting to think Pedaltrain isn't the way to go. If I were good with making wood type shit, I'd make one, but I'm not...soooooooooooooo yea. I don't want to spend 300 bucks on a board either. Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm

Hmm.. every time I run out of space and consider a bigger board I end up just selling the stuff I use the least. But if you actually use all of that then fuck it, get a bigger board! Although if you need to lug it around for gigs or whatever then two boards would probably be a better solution.

That is a crapload of cool stuff you have on there, I reckon you could fill up two PT-Pro's easily with that and all the stuff on the sideline. I like pedaltrain cuz they're lightweight and you can hide all the cables underneath, not sure if I could suggest anything else.

Looks like you need a bigger board indeed, go get a flat one instead.. the cables could look like a mess but it's waaaaaaay easier to manage especially when you love to re-arrange things quite often. I've used pt-2, pt-3 and even pt-mini, it was such a hassle to arrange and hide the mess underneath the board. I'm now using a brady case flatboard which is great and pretty cheap (I think it was around $75 at a size of 16x29), but a pain to haul without a case and wheels.

Get a piece of plywood (3/4" thick), cut to the size you want. Cut a strip of 3/4" x 3/4" trim or some shit and attach to the back for a little incline. Put some sort of felt or rubber on all 4 corners. You can put rows like this, plywood, 1"x4" then 2" x 4". Cover in industrial velcro. Pretty easy duder!

i mean, it depends. i love my setup, but i hate hauling around a pt-pro. and there's no way i'm going bigger.

if you're gigging? i wouldn't. if it's stuff that's gonna stay at home? do what Deltz is saying and make your own board.

If you want to go bigger: get another pt. make an I/o on the side of both so when you set up you just plug both power supplies in, a patch cable between board 1 and 2 and you're good to go pedal wise.

Cable ties keep everything nice under.

I think you can't beat the strength/weight ratio of a pt, and if you're careful with your routing you can make it pretty tidy and maintain the ability to change up pedals.

If you're interested I'll take some photos of my board showing the io and the routing. I only use 1 board but the concept is the same.

Either get a PT grange or go with a custom one by Roadie like I did.

I'm gonna get mauled here, but the best thing I did was limit myself to a PT-1. I had a fully loaded PT-3 and wanted to go bigger, but I was spending way too much on pedals. I ended up sidelining things I could approximate with more versatile pedals - I made myself deal with bending over and adjusting my smaller filter instead of using my filter with presets, stuff like that.

You could do a dirt board and then another one for modulation/delay/verb. Or break it up into boards that get different sounds. I have my big board for all the doom/drone/black metal stuff and then another small one for just some nasty fuzzes when I just want play something really simple and grindy.
