Wow, that's beautiful, but indeed my eyes almost popped out seeing that price. Those Richmonds look quite interesting too, a bit of a Mosrite vibe I'd say.

Champagne sparkle , mint condition. Boutique bass all the way. Med scale. Comes w nice case and case candy including certification. I love this thing , sad to sell. But there is a Mike Lull that I MUST have so this has to go. A rare and beautiful gem. I also have an extra set of flats that will come w it. This is a German made PREMIUM bass guitar- please don't waste my time if not interested. This is a GREAT deal for this! No scammers, no BS, calls ONLY!

Yes, they're stupidly expensive in the States. I scored a mint V-caster for around $400 a few years ago on German Ebay; nowadays I see them go for $700-800, which is still a great deal. If you want a Duesy buy it in Germany, eat the shipping and customs, and if you don't like it (which I doubt) you can still flip it for a handsome profit.
How about a stacked humbucker to avoid routing? I've got one in the middle position on my tele and it sounds incredible. Can only imagine it would do the same in neck position.
