My nine string is tuned to dropped Bb. I just use a set of d'addario 13's (the baritone light set) and bought some singles for the extra strings which are tuned a fifth above their counterpart. I think that downtuning for a 12 would be just as easy. Get whatever gauge string you normally like (you may end up liking a set that's just a bit lighter; added strings= added "overall tension") then get a really super light set, like a nashville set or something.amorphous wrote:how well do 12 strings do tuned to C standard or drop C? what gauge strings?
