Side mounted parameters are a deal breaker for me.

At the same time though, pretty much every wah or treadle-based effect that has any knobs at all, has them on the sides.

But not the Whammy, which is essentially what the pitch shifter is competing with.

But to be fair, with the way this thing is designed, it doesn't exactly look like it would be easy to accidentally tweak a knobby with the side of your foot, seems pretty out of the way.

As far as the sound goes, just listened to the video demo. Its not that bad, sounds pretty smooth tracking wise. That alone might pique my interest in the thing, maybe not so much for live performance as much as a smooth whammy alternative in studio.


But fuck me if the thing isn't ugly.

Sounds pretty good, but I'm sticking by the Whammy 5. It does everything I need it to, and if I were to add any more pitch shifting effects it'd be the Boss PS-6 to get the timed divebombs.

So is the hatred based on the fact that it isn't a traditional type of treadle system?

Would this be more acceptable if it was in a wah and made by Brian? Even if it was in the same case, but made by TD I think this would be way different.

the thing is, that's a pain in the ass unless you plan on putting it first or last in the chain (something that I never do with pitchshifters).

don't get me wrong, I applaud EHX for doing something different and I bet it works very well. but it's hard for me at least to even slightly want to buy something if it doesn't fit into my OCD habits
i mean, the cradle is sort of a solution but it would still fall off the board if you picked it up and carried it with one hand.

if there was some kinda pin or lock
at the pivot point
id probably wanna give it a try
but then might as well just be in a wah enclosure

but beon able to go to heel from zero

It looks like EHX has a velcro strap that you put over the pedal when you're packing up, that secures it to the cradle.
