bass -> modeler -> PA ?

Post by friendship »

Have you guys ever done this for live shows? I may be playing bass for a quartet and don't have a proper amp and cab, but my modeler gets a pretty good sound. Do you think the lack of stage volume would be detrimental? What are your experiences?

You might need a di box to go from the modeler to the pa but it should work just fine if they have a decent monitor setup ive done this for guitar using my amp as the monitor and a rusty box direct into the pa only.

I run from my rusty box to the mixer or pa. I'd suggest using a pre or DI of some kind.

That's my main gigging setup. I normally use a PJB Bass Buddy, which is a preamp with a DI out. Works perfectly for that purpose, and as long as the soundman knows what he's doing, you get a great sound.
