Best Bass Compressor?

Post by BassIsBad »

I currently have an EBS multicomp, and it it pretty good. However, I would entertain the idea of upgrading if there would be a significant betterment to my sound.
Anyone have any experience with the Diamond or Empress bass compressors?
What's the best bass compressor in your opinion?

I've never used either of the two you're asking about, but I have to say that for good-old bread n butter bass compression, the MXR Bass Comp is superb. I went through a good 7 or 8 comps before I hit on the MXR, and my GAS is gone. I still dug the Philosopher's Tone for crazy thick compression, as more of an effect than an always-on thingy.

How about a 3Leaf Pwznor? NeroJazz is rocking one on the pedal board thread: http://ilovefuzz.com/viewtopic.php?f=14 ... 20#p707613
Spencer at 3Leaf is a bassist and a very good guy to deal with.
