I see some supposedly new Akai E2 pedals on Ebay for $99 (doesn't say refurbished anywhere in the ad). Is the E2 getting discontinued? (Lots of E2s on Ebay for 199, too).
Explain?
I'm wracking my brain to justify investing in a looper right now...

I don't see anything online that says they're getting discontinued. Could be an online dealer clearing through some old stock.

It's a stock clearing thing. This actually happens pretty periodically but if you took the time to post about it you're already too late to get one at that price.

I got my E2 for 75 EUR about 8 years ago. Still wouldn't pay more for it. I find it noisy and on the thrashy side wacky. There are nowadays cooler delays imho.

I got mine for something like $80 a couple years ago, but it took some wrangling. Guitar Center was clearing stock in stores but no one was doing the same pricing in online store fronts, so it took a phone call to get some price matching to happen. So I wouldn't take one dealer with a low price as a sign of the end.
I like the pedal a lot, especially the tape delay sim. The looper is good, but for me it wasn't that intuitive to learn to use it. I have a feeling that something like the t.c. Ditto would have been an easier jump into that pool.

I thought that's what brought everyone attention to them in the past couple years? They started selling for stupid cheap prices online and seemed badass so everyone started grabbing them up.
