When I saw them last month, they were allready playing and I figured it was a three piece band. Nope, two dudes.nightterrors wrote: what do they do for bass live?

He treats his six string bass like a chapman stick. pretty cool.

I'm right there with you, man. I don't normally care for "metal" guitars, especially BC Rich guitars, but those look great. I've also always thought the 80s Eagles looked sweet too.misterstomach wrote:I don't know what's come over me, but I suddenly find myself really really wanting a bc rich mockingbird. I'm not a pointy guitar guy at all, but I messed around with one in a local pawn shop and I love it! It's an exotic classic, which are Korean, but supposedly still really nice. It sure did play well and feel really good. I can't believe it, but I really like the way it looks too.

So, tonight I saw Esoteric (the UK doom band), and holy crap was it disappointing. The sound wasn't too great, which is always a bummer, but they were just uninteresting to watch and their frontman wears one of those headset mics which just seems silly to me.
But Velnias killed it hard. Go see the tour just to catch them.
On other super bummer news, my bud/other guitarist in Khemmis just snagged a Carvin X100b last week. It sounded KILLER at practice. Wouldn't fire up at all at the show two hours later. Diagnosis: transformer totally dead. I think he's covered on returning it, but lost 100 bucks on the shipping and diagnosis AND is back to using his super quiet Sunn Sorado until he can find another Carvin on the cheap.
KHEMMIS. Doomed heavy metal. DECEIVER out 11/19/21 on Nuclear Blast.
GLACIAL TOMB. Misanthropic death/black/sludge. S/t debut out now on Gilead Media.
Good deals with: Ancient Astronaught, conky, crohny, D-Day, Corey Y, ryan summit, tons more here and on HCFX under this username

I knew they were a two piece, but I thought it was just guitar and drums. Right on.

That double-bass-getting-fucked-raw sound he has going on during those tapping parts is sick.

Played a great show last night to a packed out club. We had tons of people saying that we were great. Got tons of compliments on our tone. My drummer is getting comfortable now and nailed the last two shows. He's also starting to hit hard as fuck now too. Sold out of our run of CDs in three shows. Pretty pumped. Sending off the tracks for our split tomorrow to Dan at Mammoth Sound. Can't wait to hear how huge he makes us sound.
