Pitch shifters and fuzz? Can you help me make it awesome?

Post by hasblueshoes »

I want to do this, I've got a ps-2, ps-3, and a pog and I want to make them awesome with fuzz, at least one of them. Have you done it before? How did you do it? What fuzz did you use? I want to riff along, heavy chugga chugga type stuff, root notes, maybe some 5ths nothing fancy, down would be good, up is ok too, I can take glitch, I want kinda synthy. Got it? Ok good. Also, don;t be afraid to tell me it can't be awesome, that you tried it and it wasn't cool. I can handle that too.

Should I crank those sliders? Adjust to taste? I was trying the sub and the regular input way up with a "sprinkling" of the upper octaves but it didn't catch me, I think I need to take them higher.

Might as well just crank 'em all for maximum chaos!

In my experience:

Bass into POG into Turbo Rat = crazy lead tonez.

Bass into POG into Assmaster = crazy glitch angry computer stutter.

Bass into POG into Wolf Computer = WTF?@#&!(#$ :omg:

Also, if you're looking to get new gear, I like the pitch shift + internal fuzz on the Holy Stain.
I'm more like a mids-ist than a bassist.

Putting pitch shifters before dirt just messes up your sound for the worse IMO.

Do you pitch shift after dirt? I've only done it before... maybe I should try switching things around.

Well, my dirt is always some sort of FUzz, usually a derivative of the Big Muff. Putting something like an octave pedal before just makes it sound like you are playing in octaves normally(i.e. a power chord without the 5th for those type of peoples :whateva: ) But with it after, it doesn't track quite as well, but the sound is much more full.

Definetly!
Big Muff> Frazz Dazzler > Blue Box> US
edit: oops, the Frazz and Blue Box should be switched around so the Blue Box right after the Big Muff.
