Bass cab for Ampeg V2
I'm going to be running a Wretch Machine and Goth T-Bird bass through this amp. My budget is in the $300 range, preferably lower. What would you suggest?

I'm leaning towards an Avatar 2x10 8ohm. They've got a scratch n dent for $250 shipped.

Your in Waldorf eh? Another DC local!
Why not just head to Atomic Music in silver spring and see what they've got. I guarantee you can score something bigger and louder then a 2x10 for 300$ or less. Your probably going to want to look for something like a 2x15 if you want more low end. What is this wretch machine? I haven't seen one of those before.

Yeah, I live about 30mins. from DC.
I was thinking 2x10, because the amp is only 60 watts. Atomic music is a cool store. I guess I could just bring the amp with me and try cabs out. Last time I was there, they had a Fender reissue Sunn 2x15. I was dissapointed in it though, it lacked in deep bass for a 2x15. I'm not expecting stool softening lows from the V2, but want to make sure I get the most out of it.

Don't worry about the V2 being "only" 60 watts.

Special low-frequency version.

Yea, I'll just try out a bunch of different cabs. I hate checking out basses and amps at stores. There's always jazz and funk guys going nuts with the slapping and tapping, while I'm just going duhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh duhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh duhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh

Yeah, there's that, and it's also reallllly tough to crank something like a V2 up to the levels you'll be using outside the store.

The guys at Atomic Music are really cool. They let you crank it for a brief moment
Maybe I'll bring my Wretch instead of using a bass to try out cabs

You're gonna want the biggest cab you can afford. 2x10 isn't gonna cut it. Look for used 810's, 215's, etc. that amp is gonna be dirty no matter what (in a good way) so you're gonna need some speaker surface area to get you some volume.

Re: Bass cab for Ampeg V2
I just got the V2 a couple days ago. It really makes the 2x15 sing! I'm going to pick up a 1x18 soon. Fucking killer amp!!!!!!! I've been running it at 4ohms. Excited to check it out at 2ohms.
