Yeah I would say so. There is also a new rustybox made for guitar. I have a friend with a pre amp stereo power amp setup and it is retarded loud. Engl pre into engl stereo power amp into 2 412's.

yah. you're gonna need a pre. on bass i LOVE the Tronographic Rusty Box. i think they just put out a guitar specific od/preamp like the Rusty? i'd look into that. i don't really know poo about guitar pre's though.

if you're cool with a 2u space (they make micro poweramps like the SWR AmpLite that are a half 1u sized, but they're kinda bank), take a look at the Peavy IPR stuff. they're about the price of similar watt QSC, but the IPR's weigh 6 or 7 lbs. mines is AMAZING. i think the 2 space plastic rack case for it weighs more than the amp.

Does the Peavey IPR need a full size rack, or will it fit in a shallow one? I think I'm gonna buy the IPR 1600. I want dem Behndy tones.

lol. that's the most Non Toanz thing i HAVE in my setup. you silly billy.

um. i think it'll fit a shallow. i have it in a standard depth 2u rack and there's about 3 or 4 inches empty that i use for putting all the speaker and cables to pedalboards and shtuff. fucking awesome. thing seriously weighs MAYBE 8 lbs. so light and fluffy.

i DID put some tape over the one of the LED's on the front though. i was at a gig where i let the other two bands borrow my rig. we went first, then when the second band was on it was like FUCK ME SATAN'S INTERESTED BLUE EYE IS STARING DEEP INTO MY SOUUUUUUUUUUUL. went up and taped it before the second band went up.

so fucking awesome to hear way better than i am players run through my rig. make it sound MEOW MOW.

yessuh. i have a QSC that's around 500 watts per channel that i use at home (fucking ridiculousy loud) and a SWR Amp Lite i use in the living room, then the IPR 1600 for practice/gigs.

it's LOUD with a Rusty in front of it. at clubs where there's no/shitty FOH i play it at about 4 on each channel. and it BOOMS.

So are you bridging it, then? How do you do that with the IPR?

nopers. no bridging. i use one channel of the amp for my main out into a 2x12 cab then the second output (mah board's got two paths out) into a pair of 1x12 cabs.

i DO think the IPR lets you bridge. if i remember right there's a switchy switch on the back panel?
