The bad thing of these is not durability, is that the lower border, of the side you use as a pedalboard, is not low enough and can be annoying for certain cables and pedals. You would eventually need your own board and use this one as the case.
that's a good point, if you put some pedals near the edge of the board you can't get a straight guitar cable into them, they make right angle 1/4 inch adaptors so my end pedal always gets one of those, as far as stomping height I don't think it is that bad, but the height for cables is a pain,

I ripped up the felt and replaced it with real Velcro. The good news is they are light and sit flat on the ground, if that's what you want. And there's plenty of room for taller pedals. I'd say the protection is one step above the soft cases that pedaltrain makes.
