acoustic pickup with cord to a jack
would I just cut it off and solder on a strap pin jack?

Is it a magnetic pickup? I have always wanted to do that with my pro-mag. I have an under saddle but like running both
I never think to do it when i am changing strings

I like having the option of taking it off... You could always pop a hole in the bottom and just pass the cord though the body and out...

Re: acoustic pickup with cord to a jack
or you could put in a jack that goes to another jack
plug the acoustic pickup into the jack inside the guitar and run that jack to an end pin jack
that way later on you can just unplug the acoustic pickup and try something else
downfall there is that you will be left with some amount of cable coiled up in the guitar
