I'm really terrible with the amount of hip hop I actually enjoy, but Doomtree (the whole crew with any of their solo stuff as well) is really well done and tasteful thought provoking stuff. I really like these guys as well:

Rusty's got a nice list, only it's missing Liquid Swords.

I saw P.O.S and some other doomtree'ers at a small club in Portland a couple years ago. Really friendly dude, show was sold out but he made sure everyone who was at the door got in.
