Just one at the moment. A kinda post-rock-ish combination of new wave and no wave(or something like that) called Clockwork Towns. Consists of two members sharing the input equally. We both play guitar and he programs drums machines. I cover all the multimedia stuff for our live shows. We usually play live about once (sometimes twice) a month and practice and write/jam once a week.
Clockwork Towns: Like grandma's homemade chicken soup, lovingly made with just a hint of sulphuric acid.

Five, actually. I play bass in four of them, and guitar in one. And, I write for one of them. I mean, like songs. I write my own parts, etc. for all of the bands I'm in. But yeah, they vary a lot in style, from punk-ish, to like power pop-esque, to emo, to doom, to shoegaze. It's fun, and it keeps me busy.

atm, 3: 2 are solo projects, one is a collaboration with another ILF guy (not saying which one due to the fact that there's a ways to go before this particular project is completed). One, Blue Ghost Factory, is loop-based. The other solo thing is one which I've been working on for a couple of months with the running name of Tinyband (until I decide which from the long list of names I've come up with to call it) with live instrumentation in real time vs. loops. BGF= anything goes within the context of loop-based stuff. Tinyband is lap steel, bass, guitar/rhythm and lead lap steel, and kid drums played with chop sticks. This could turn into 4 before all is said and done, as I've wanted to do lap steel/guitar/vox only kind of thing for awhile. The possible-fourth would be a fuzzed out (mostly) country/ blues READ: not blooze/folk thing. Don't have a name for it yet. But I think I'll call the album "King of the Bedroom Stoner Guitar"

only 1 now for me. :-D

i think my max when i was in college was like 6-7. they were pretty diverse - a 4-piece shoegaze band, a 3-piece post-rock band, a 6-piece electronic pop band, a 6-piece jam/funk band, a 3-piece electronic laptop band, a 3-piece jazz/free improv band... i also sat in randomly on stuff and worked on my own ambient music. fuck i have no idea how i was able to do all that. i guess none of us were actually touring much, just playing random shows in boston and regionally. i had pretty heavy creative influence in all of them except the jam band, which was really just for fun and some extra bucks so i didn't really care.

I mean, yeah, once you get past four, and when none are touring extensively, it gets pretty easy to keep saying "Yeah, I'll be in that". Plus, sleep becomes a bit of a luxury.

Currently playing in one band, but we're going on hiatus soon. I'm going to work on some solo projects because I know I won't be in another band for years.

Only one - plus occasional projects - ever after I got my hands full with my exwife and the kids and the day job. But since I'm nowadays divorced and have a little more time every second week... I might be back in one of my old bands soon. Let's see. :idk:
