I also got one of the best responses I've ever had from Chris at Wattson when I asked about bass usage. It's great when a builder has enough class to say nice things about other pedal builders and then also point out specifically how to get the best out of the EFY-6 on bass. Wattson definitely have an ILF builder vibe about them. I'll grab an EFY in the near future too.

Dude, it rules on bass. It kicked my Rat Tail off my bass board, and I loved that pedal. It just sounds so natural when pushed. It makes my shit sound huge and thick like a cranked vintage SVT. In fact, recently I saw Mammoth Grinder and their bass player was playing a vintage SVT stack and it sounded so good that the next day I played all my pedals through all my amps to emulate that sound and the Mini beat them all. It just has that right amount of growl and does great in front of a clean clean to dirty clean, extended low end signal. Like I mentioned, I play mine through a Beta Bass and a flatback SVT 810 with a Precision bass rocking DiMarzio model P's. No clips but maybe I can try to get something tonight if it doesn't overclip my microphone.
Curious, how do you set your Mini?

Gain around 10:30/11:00, give or take Volume around 1:30 Bias around 1:00 Bass all the way up Treble around.... I can't remember, actually... Perhaps around 10 o'clock.
Amp is set clean with the mids and treble balanced and a bit of extended low end. As loud as it can get without driving. Gain is probably just around 3 on the beta bass with the level and master dimed. The Mini is really just boosting it a hair in volume and a few notches in overdrive. It's still low gain growl though, and obv very "amp" like. Much smoother and nicer than the built in drive on the Beta Bass, which can get fizzy and thin real quick to my ears.
