I've never played a Grabber so I'm not sure, but it totally doesn't have the brawn that my Precision has. Which is kind of a problem haha. I'm startign to think maybe I shouldn't have gotten it, but I drove like 80 miles just to see it and I didn't have my P for comparison.... Meh. It also has lighter strings on it than I'm used to so maybe I should change those before dismissing it, but I'm kinda bummin'.nightterrors wrote:Dude fuck yeah!kbithecrowing wrote:Picked this Gretsch up today. It sounds super throaty and I'm totally not used to it after playing with my Precision for these last couple months. I have to play around with the pickups and my gear to dial in the sound more. Not sure if it will be a keeper but it is pretty cool.
that looks bad ass.
Throaty like a Grabber?

Yeah it is pretty sick to look at. The pickups are SD Rickenbacker pickups.skullservant wrote:Super intrigued by how fucking awesome it looks. Almost looks like a mini Humbucker in the neck

That's hawt. Got a nice bridge, too. I've heard those SD replacements are pretty different from real Ric pickups, but

Re: Let's see your BASS!
It's a '51 DuKane 1U325 PA head (says it's 25 watts, but it feels more like 15). My gal's dad found it in an old church up in Canada. Looked like it never got used before he found it. Just a few little mods to it and a recap job and it works like a charm. Still has the original tubes and alltuffteef wrote:

Sounds super compressed. Kind of like Crazy Horse in an amp. It's a bit flat dynamically, but it has a super unique tone.
The cab is one I built last month. Not totally done yet...Need to make a grill cloth out of burlap to match my guitar cab

Just brought this home. Badge fell off, but I think it's a Teisco. Short scale. Needs a little work, but it sounds gnarly.
