What's a "good" inexpensive drum machine?

Post by nightterrors »

Looking to get one, have some songs I've been writing lately and there's not really any drummers around where I am that want to play this kind of stuff..... so I'm thinking I want to try a drum machine so I can at least record/jam the songs and show people on here or wherever in hopes to find a drummer.

Thanxxxxx!!

I use the Zoom RT-123 for basic songwriting/jamming purposes. Does everything I need. They go pretty cheap secondhand.

Just watch out with old SR-16s and their internal battery. Once the battery is flat they can be a bit of a bugger to replace unless you're a wizz with a soldering iron. The internal battery is essential if you want to make up your own beats and save them. I bought one second hand and was gutted when after producing some quite lavish drum patterns the machine couldn't save them - switched the machine on next day and they were gone, despite saving them night before!

Plenty of apps for iOS or android, if you're into that kind of thing.
