So, can I do the following with the Jamman Stereo:
- put it in one shot mode
- start a prerecorded phrase from the memory
- then go Loop up and start the next read loop IMMEDIATELY?
Or if not immediately, how much would I have to wait, but most importantly could I change to the next loop before the previous one finnishes off?
What I want to do is shot samples on the fly, without sending a clicktrack to my drummer, so a method of quick changing from one loop to another before waiting for the previous loop to finish is required.
Can this be done with the Jamman Stereo?
It is my understanding that one can retrigger the loop from the start for a stuttering effect if in one shot mode. Is this true as well?
Thank you all.

The best you can do is hit loop up/down while your one shot sample is playing, wait for the right moment to switch, and then quickly press stop and then play.
You can retrigger one shot samples but not loops

Hm,so if you put it to fade out mode, you even might change phrases in a musical way on the fly?

The vox looper can fade from one loop to the other with the expression control. It was pretty cool. The onboard fx were junk though and the odd buttons made it hard to get timing right.

It depends on what sound you're going for. When you hit the stop switch in fade mode, it starts fading out to the end of the sample (i.e. you can't make it fade to somewhere in the middle of your sample without stopping playback).
If you want to switch to loop2 before loop1 ends with a fade:
-hit stop while loop1 is running to start the fade out
-hit the loop up/down buttons to find loop2
-either wait until loop1 fades to the end and hit play (to start loop2) OR hit stop while loop1 is fading and hit play

Yeah the VOX is a fantastic device, I am strongly considering it too.
@hollowhero
I think I would prefer the last thing you described. So the fading doesn't really help with not having a moment of silence when switching loops? I thought you could start loop one, then hit the Loop up switch to prepare the next prerecorded phrase, then hit Stop switch to begin fade out and then hit Playback switch to start the phrase that you previoulsy read from memory? This would of couurse mean that you do not wait until phrase one fade out but activate the next one somewhere along the phrase one fade out.
If not even this is possible then I really hate Digitech :-D

You can do what you're describing, but you need to hit stop before you hit play (because loop1 is still going)...which of course means that there's going to be a brief moment of silence between the time you hit stop and the time you hit play

What a pitty :-(
I really can't believe such a basic fubctionality is not supported not even with workarounds...
I should just build a controller for the Ableton Live Looper and forget about comercially available ones...
I mean, yeah, perhaps a boss rc300 could do this but man is that thing expensive and BIG
